Exploring Portugal: Lisbon to the Algarve

October 6, 2019October 6, 2019 Jess

With dramatic cliffs that hug the Atlantic coastline, Portugal constitutes the southwestern most tip of Europe. A prime position for sunset viewing, for sure, but also a sliver of land that offers rich culture (and equally rich cuisine), stunning scenery, genuinely nice people and equally important, extreme value.

J O S H U A T R E E // I have so many thoughts on this place and experience. It’s served as a really rich family destination, despite its blink-and-you-might-miss-it first impression.
H I K E S // Family-friendly treks weren’t hard to find in Joshua Tree Nat’l Park, which is truly one of the prettiest places we’ve been. Boulder mountains, massive rock formations, ALL of those Joshua Trees… and with every movement of the sun, a new, vivid colorway. Including the hikes that we did and loved, below.
Easy like Sunday morning 🎶
Me, at bedtime: “Thanks for being such a good kid today, Mack.”
D E S E R T D E T O X 🌵// It wasn’t until after booking the rental that I learned Wifi had inaccurately been listed as an amenity. (And here I thought we were brave choosing a place without a TV.) With super spotty cell service on top, we’ve officially kicked off our trip with a technology detox.
And we leave this weekend 👀
S I X M O N T H S // We’ve got a rolling, bouncing machine on our hands. At six months, Ella Jo rarely stays put, except to eat … which she’s now doing daily (mango and green beans are a current fave). She’s clocking in at nearly 19 lbs, has officially graduated from the Snoo, and is full of smiles and laughs for her big bro.
T H R E E. Three years of those toothy smiles, belly laughs, “cozy” cuddles and mischief making.
