Brilliant fall colors, sprawling vineyards and crisp Great Lakes breezes ... these are the things that Traverse City brings to mind as fall tumbles toward lower Michigan. In an effort to fully embrace the changing seasons and also to simply put something (anything!) on the calendar that we could look forward to, I booked a weekend in the northwestern lower peninsula for our little crew of three, plus a few of our family and friends.
We snuck the babe's first road trip in just before COVID-19 quarantining took hold of the nation. Chicago's family-friendly Lincoln Park served as our homebase for a quick weekend away and we're listing the reasons it'd work well for you, too.
Every other year, come April, we trek the three hours to Cambridge, Ontario, where we hole up in the deliciously indulgent Langdon Hall Country Hotel and Spa for just one night. Our excuse for the excess? Anniversary. Pass the champs, please.
